Online Store: Why does my site show as 'not secure'?

I recently switched over to the new online store powered by Weebly. It was working fine, until I upgraded and added a custom domain (my website is hosted by Wix). The link works, but it is NOT SECURE and it has caused all of my products to state, "not accepting payments at this time." I tried switching back to the domain that Square automatically assigned to our Weebly store, but I cannot find an option that lets me do that. It says SSL is automatic, to give it some time and it will override, but it's been about 10 hours since I switched domains, and it is  still not working

Hey @tolgardgames-

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community. Really sorry to hear about this issue you've been experiencing.

Any change to the DNS settings can take 24-48 hours to update on the backend. You will also need to make sure the domain is properly pointed to our IP address, that there are no AAAA records, and that the SSL is enabled.

If you're using the Square Online Store, you can unpublish (from Website> General Settings) and then publish again from within the editor.

Let me know which of these suggestions/steps you've tried already. I look forward to hearing from you.

It has been over 48 hours and it still isn't fixed. Is there anything I can do? Is there someone I can contact?

Thank you

Unpublish the site and leave it unpublished for about an hour to allow the certificate to properly connect... then republish the site.

If you want a more exact time frame without the guesswork, you can set up cloudflare as a DNS proxy and use their domain ssl certificate notification setting. It will inform you when a certificate has been issued for your domain. This is the best way to know when you can republish. An hour is only an estimate, it might be less it might be more. It took an hour for me.

I have a Weebly subscription. I have setup my square account and bank account has been connected. Items show available and in stock. On the square side it is set and ready to accept payments. I am unable to get my website to accept payments and it comes up Not Secure (not sure if these problems go together)

I am running two separate online stores through our main website MOGROG.com there are direct links that have directed people to either our cafe location or our Food truck for orders. Yesterday both websites were operational and used by clients of ours. Today they are both listed as not secure, I can not access either through our links or by typing in the site.

Thank you.

My domain was transferred over to Square from goDaddy.com. Now I have dmh.bkjani.com and SSL is not active. Do I need to get that separately?

I recently transferred my go daddy name. My site is now noticed as not secure. Please give me directions to fix this. Yes, I did wait 24-48 hours.

I successfully set up a square online website using the free square.site domain.
I transferred my old domain from bluehost to Square. (After deleting my Wordpress site.)

I followed all the steps and received an email saying “your domain has been successfully transferred”.
I expected that the result would be that when I used my old xxxx.com address that it would show my new square site. It doesn’t. I just get a directory for my old site.
I must have done something wrong or skipped a step, but I can’t figure it out.

Hey @Lisepomeroy !

Welcome to the Seller Community! 🤓

Yes, the good news is that your Square site is up and running:

It sounds like you may need to adjust where your previous URL/domain is pointing to. Did you follow these instructions carefully? Let me know!

Isabella,

Thank you for your response.

Because I “transferred” my domain to Square, I didn’t think I still had to “connect”.
Did I miss a step?

Hey @Lisepomeroy!

I'm sorry! I misunderstood you. Did you follow all of the steps in this article? Did you go to Website > General Settings and use the customize button to change the site address to your domain?

Just to understand the end goal here - you want to ensure that your previous URL points to your current URL/site?
