Why is it Square seems to make it harder to to manage your own business on their platform with every update? it seems square has forgotten about us that are retailers, and now seem to put their main focus on restaurants and online store only. I have been with square for over 11 years, and the last few years are painful to maneuver within square and run my business.  Just to enter an item it takes more steps and some of the additional required extra steps don’t even work. What used to one click is now over 5 clicks and steps to get into the same place.  And then you have certain steps that require extra steps like adding an item in a certain category, or adding a variety, or adding a weight or other info for an online item.  The visibility button moved but the new steps don’t work so they “updated” again to add even more steps just to remove an item from your website. The customer service people don’t have a clue to what you are talking about when you call and need help figuring out how to now do something that just worked yesterday. It has just gotten to the point that ready to jump ship! We spend more time trying to figure out where a button went or how to navigate and learn their changes than I have in a day. And still years later, after so many requests, you can’t make a return or exchange from a split payment on anything but the original form of payment. If it was on a gift card, and another form such as cc or cash, it has to be that exact gift card which in most cases that gift was recycled and now someone else has it, or it got tossed! This is a topic that has been an issue since the beginning and makes it even harder when you set a store policy of all returns will be for exchange or store credit.  So many things that just make you feel like they don’t care and you are definitely not being heard with your feed back! Hi everyone, I’m wondering how you arrange your menu tiles. I’ve experimented with colors, photos of meals, and other elements, and now I’ve created some custom icons that I’m really enjoying. Square keeps coming out with new features and resources- and likely there are plenty of businesses that benefit from this type of help.  BUT what *I* would really love would be to have a Square Team that is available to help you set up your Square in a way that works best for you!! People who know the ins and outs really well, as well as the new features available. Instead of lil ol me running my business and trying to learn the best way to set up my square, likely missing some tricks or easy ways to do things…  If I could hop on a consultation with someone and say “this is my business, this is how I would like for it to look/work” and they could professionally set it up for you?! From item entering to layout to online integration and subscriptions.  I know there are some platforms for website builds and things, where you can hire someone to do it for you, but that doesn’t seem quite like what I’m imagining - like almost but not quite. Same with video tutorials, not quite it.  Even a quarterly or yearly maintenance check in - “hey are there new features that could solve some problems I’ve had, or anything new I’m not utilizing here”.  I would definitely pay for this service, to have it built specifically for my shops, and would love if Square made it a resource, from actual Square folx.  ... Curious how restaurant and bar owners here are handling customer referrals. A few things I keep hearing from F&B owners I talk to: Most are doing it manually (discount codes, handwritten cards, "tell them I sent you") Nobody's tracking who referred whom, so rewards are inconsistent When they try third-party apps, most are built for retail or salons, not restaurants For those of you running anything referral-related: Are you tracking it, and if so, how? What reward works best in your experience — free appetizer, gift card, % off next visit? Has anyone tried tying it to loyalty points through Square Loyalty? I've been working on this problem specifically for Square merchants (I built a tool called ViralRef), and I'm trying to learn what actually moves the needle for restaurants vs. what we've seen work for salons. I'm trying to delete expired coupons from our website.  It would actually be helpful if we could edit a current coupons, so we don't have to cancel a coupon each time we make an error.  I currently have 52 expired coupons that I would like to delete.  From what I've seen this has been an issue since 2022, and it's still an issue.  Is there any timeline on an actual solution and not simply saying a post has been solved and closing the question.  ...
