What We Built

A production-ready inventory management system for JTPets pet supply business with Square POS integration. The system automates reorder suggestions, tracks sales velocity, manages purchase orders, and provides comprehensive business intelligence.

1. Square Integration

• Full catalog sync (items, variations, categories, images)
• Multi-location inventory tracking
• Vendor management
• Sales velocity analysis (91/182/365-day periods)
• Smart sync with configurable intervals (90% fewer API calls)
• Soft-delete tracking with automatic inventory zeroing

2. Intelligent Reorder System

• Priority-based suggestions (URGENT/HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW)
• Multi-factor analysis:
  • Days until stockout
  • Square stock alert thresholds (location-specific)
  • Sales velocity trends
  • Lead times
• Case pack and reorder multiple adjustments
• Secondary vendor warnings
• Handles items with no sales data

3. Purchase Order Management

• Create POs from reorder suggestions
• Edit quantities inline before submitting
• Square CSV export (RFC 4180 compliant) for easy import
• Track PO status (Draft/Submitted/Partial/Received)
• Vendor and location filtering

4. Expiration Tracking

• Set expiration dates per variation
• "Never expires" flag
• Filter by time ranges (30/60/90/120 days)
• In-line editing with confirmation

Its on my github if you want to try and run it. Only the vendor functions won't work fully without some database tweaking due to api limitations at this time, the po exports are also a WIP

@dokidoki Here is a video of the current cycle count system I've implemented, for your count by category you could set the daily batch to 0 in the .env, export your catalog and copy upc/gtin into the box after filtering by category:

Alternativly, use the source code as a project with claude code to pivot to something more suitable to you 🙂
