How to use the Feedback hub in the Square Community

Our 🆕 Feedback hub makes sharing product feedback with Square easier than ever. 🥳 We relaunched a streamlined experience designed to enable all sellers to offer their perspectives and ideas. Read this guide to get started and learn how to use the Feedback hub.

💡 Feature Requests

First, we’ve consolidated the former “Ideate” boards across the global Square Community into one new space: Feature RequestsThis spot in the hub is where sellers post their product ideas, and Square employees respond with status updates. To get started, you’ll want to read Best practices for posting a Feature Request. Once you’ve reviewed that article, you are ready to post your idea. Here are the steps:

  1. Go to Feature Requests
  2. Search first, to see if someone else has already posted a similar request you can comment on
  3. If there is no pre-existing thread started, click Submit A Request

  4. Write a descriptive title and post explaining your use case
  5. Publish your post
  6. Community team acknowledge requests and respond with any news from Product team

Submitting a Feature Request does not guarantee our team will develop the feature, however it does increase the chance that your feedback gets directly to the people who create Square products. This is a simple and quick way to have your voice heard, and the more sellers who comment and like your feature request, the more likely it is to be flagged and assessed by our team.

🗣️ Feedback Discussions

We’ve created a new discussion forum where sellers and Square team members come together for focused feedback conversations. Whether the conversation comes from a Square employee or your peers here in the community, we welcome you to join the chatter in Feedback Discussions.

Square employees create threads here to gather input, share opportunities to join product testing or surveys, and connect with you to help shape the future of our products. As a seller, you’re encouraged to jump into these conversations and share your experiences whenever they’re relevant. You can also start your own thread when you’d like to ask your peers for feedback, for example on your Square website.

Sharing feedback

  1. Reply to existing threads sharing your input on feedback requests from Square or fellow sellers
  2. If you’d like to share a new idea or product feedback outside of these targeted asks, please post that in Feature Requests. That’s the best place to share proactive feedback and ensure it reaches the right teams.

Asking for feedback

If you’re looking for input from other members of the Square Community (including your fellow sellers and Square teams):

  1. Start a new thread.
  2. Write a clear, descriptive title for your ask.
  3. Add the “Peer Feedback” label so others know you’re seeking advice.

📌 Please hold off on creating new threads to share general product feedback. Typically sellers' product-related posts should be posed as a question in Help, or as a suggestion in Feature Requests. The Feedback Discussion area works best when we can keep feedback targeted and related to the subject a Square team member poses. This way, we keep better track of specific topics we’ve opened up and we make sure they are covered. And if you’re ever unsure how or where to engage, come ask us in Community Corner.

We encourage you to keep the conversation going by engaging with comments on your posts. You will automatically receive notifications in your email when anyone responds to your Feature Request or Feedback Discussion. To learn more about managing your subscriptions and notifications, please read this article.

We're very excited about the launch of the Feedback hub! Our sincere hope is that you find the space simple to use, and you are able to enjoy innovating with us. 🚀
