Long Press of Item Shortcuts

We are a bar, so speed of the transaction is key. We don’t use bar codes. We use Square Point of Sale on the Square Register.

Some of our items use variations, glass or bottle of wine, etc, where most people order by the glass. Currently, when an item is a shortcut button, you press it and have to choose between the item or the variation, and then if using a unit other than “item” you have to enter a quantity.  If you go into the item list, you can long press the item to pull up the screen to choose a variation or enter a quantity and also see the product description.  When you long press the item as a shortcut, you are just taken to the option to rearrange the shortcuts.  It would be so wonderful if an item had a default option that rang up with a short press of a shortcut, but gave the additional options with a long press the shortcut.  This would save a lot of time, and also reduce the need to make separate shortcut buttons of items not as commonly used, reducing clutter.
