Pool Cash tips

I've seen this come up before. It's CRAZY you can't pool cash tips as well for tip pooling

Thanks for the add.  However in Australia Tipping hasn't really taken off.  Some are doing it but by far they are the minority.  I can see how it would help though and if it takes off in Australia I would fully support a pooled tip setup.  I hope it gets some traction.

We'd love an automated cash tip pool run by close of day. We do an equal front and back of house pool based on hours worked (per day). This would be ideal to allocate cash the same as we do for credit card tip pool.

How are you currently tracking those cash tips? An Excel sheet? Paper?

Hey there Square it's us again. You said a beta would be launching soon. There's clearly interested and a need. What is it going to take to see this happen? We're about to open our fourth location and will be switching away from Square if we can't figure this out ASAP. K Thanks

The best and most robust solution to tip pools, share, cash tips, tip outs, and daily payouts is to use the TipHaus app.  The best part about this is that the house sets the parameters and the employees handle all the activity, completely removing the owner and manager from mismanagement / liability.  Every transaction / share is documented and viewable in their employee app so there is no confusion and it's fully transparent.  Well worth the cost in admn time savings and wage & hour liability compliance.  Staff can even take daily distributions against tips later paid on paycheck with a trueup every pay cycle.  Great for eliminating a manager from becoming a a daily tip-out banker.

I am adding my voice to this thread.  It would save me HOURS of work If I could input the daily (or weekly) cash tips.  I have an entirely separate spreadsheet that I use just to track our cash register and daily tips.  I record our tips and then put them back into the register.  This saves a lot of time and money getting rolls of coins and one dollar bills.  Then their tips are added to their credit card tips by our payroll company. 

One of the reasons I will not use Square payroll is because I need to be able to add their cash tips to their direct deposit paycheck.  There is no quick and easy way for us to pay out cash tips, since people's shifts are all over the place.

It would also save me time on the accounting side if those tips were recorded as tip income and could be imported into my accounting software.  Right now I enter them manually.

Hey there Square I'm also curious why the "top Kudoed Posts" doesn't include this one, even though it has 2.5X more Kudo's than the "top post"
