Scale banner height to fit screen

In the current web page designer, banner height is selected ss one of a few options. (xs, small, medium, large, etc)

We need an option to let the size scale with the window size. as it is right now, there's no way to have a banner image that fits both mobile and desktop views. If a banner displays properly in mobile, the top and bottom will be cut off on browser. if it displays properly on browser, the left and right will be cut off on mobile.

We need an option to auto scale the image height while keeping the width relative to the page width.

Yes to this. I always have to create a banner for desktop in the most acceptable compromise so it scales appropriately for mobile.

Oddly enough this is the simplest thing ever to achieve with basic html, but squares site designer cant get it right.

Agreed! Very difficult to find something that works for both.
