Change employee sale attributed to

Our business is a hair salon that operates on commission. Sometimes our employees mis-attribute sales to other people who did not complete the sale. We need a way to edit these transactions and assign them to the correct employee for both accounting and payroll purposes. Because we use Payroll with commission, the employees who did not complete the sale end up getting paid, and the ones who actually made the sale do not. This is unacceptable.

This is an urgent problem that needs to be addressed! We have to have managers comb through every single transaction to find issues. This also prohibits us from allowing our staff to use reports and watch their sales and service numbers because they are never accurate. This also causes a huge accounting transaction when you are trying to grow with service providers through specific periods because the data in the system is inaccurate. So our manager has to then go through spreadsheets to find particular team members’ sales, etc. This is such a pain when the data is there. We can’t access it because of how inaccurate it is. I would love to be able to use the integrated features for our team members, such as payroll, shifts, etc.

This is ridiculous that you can not just switch a name after a ticket is closed. We, too, have a salon and spa that sometimes has multiple service providers on every access for services and retail. I CANNOT stress enough how vital the reporting is and accuracy when you have employees who work on commissions. The whole reporting system needs to allow you to see all the information on each ticket in one place with a detailed master report to make auditing these tickets faster.

Please give an update on when we can expect this to be done.

My work around for this issue is to go into the next payroll run and change the commission cost from one person to the other.

Hi @Finbar282 - Thanks for following up on this thread.

At this time, this is still a feature request. Although this feature isn’t currently available with Square, it’s a great idea and I can see how it would be beneficial to your business. To learn more about how feature requests work, please see this post from one of our Seller Community Moderators.

In the meantime, keep an eye out for any updates in our Seller Community 🙂

How is there NINE PAGES of requests for this feature going back YEARS and it hasn’t been added. Square is designed to be simple and accessible for small businesses with multiple staff and they missed this??? It’s mind boggling that the services we as customers beg for get over looked and they add useless garbage like being able to book a class. I’m sure that feature applies to maybe 10 users and thousands of salons are struggling with not being able to report commissions properly. Figure it out.

Hi @_Violet

It appears i can adjust transactions now however its not reflecting on the team sales report.

Do you know how long it takes to sync this data?

I would love it if @Square  would please fix this before the new year so our reports reflect proper data for our service providers starting with January 1!

We have the same issue.  We had multiple transactions logged under "untracked team member".  I am unable to update and allocate those sales to the correct individuals.  After seeing this issue unresolved for YEARS. We are seriously thinking about going elsewhere for our POS.  The lack of features and editability is so frustrating.

@_Violet I am on other threads pages long requesting this feature dating back to 2022. With multiple comments made weekly. This is a HUGE issue for businesses that pay commissions for sales and services. This also has made it impossible for our service providers to track their service numbers accurately.

We also can't use your payroll or team features, because we have to export reports to audit/edit closed  tickets.

our team cant track their own growth because we know the reports are not accurate. Please, please, please fix this problem. This is ridiculous

We own a barber shop and this is the only reason we do not use Square payroll.  It is beyond disappointing that this thread goes back for years with 9 pages of comments ... and yet, it is not a priority to fix?

We love the Square register as a POS and are happy customers.

Even if we cannot change a ticket, there must be some way that a staff member with full access can make an adjustment somewhere to keep reports authentic.
