Apply Tips Based on Category ot Items

The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: "Tipping on categories or items?"

Are there any plans for square to add separate tipping options for categories as opposed to the entire sale? This seems like a huge miss to me, especially since people have been requesting it for years. If we can just toggle to turn on taxes for an item or a categories, why not tips? I will likely switch to Toast if this isn't something that might happen soon.

This is a feature that would help us a lot. We are a grocery store, but we also have a kitchen and sell prepared foods. It would be great to have the ability to select which items can be tipped. It doesn't make sense to prompt a customer to tip on an order that only has groceries. We could run 2 separate transactions, but on the transaction that should not require tipping, we would still have to skip the tipping option manually for the customer. 

So this feature would be great to have, and on the tipping screen, it should have a message saying the tip is based on selected items only and not the entire purchase.
