I made a mistake and added an extra location. I do not want it in my drop down selection boxes. I want to remove the extra location not just deactive it! I want it gone!
@Newthomas Yes I agree when you sign in on the square community it ask you to pick. This is very annoying. Any news or updates on this @Ria ? this is something that should be addressed. thank you

It's ridiculous that it's been almost ten years since people started complaining about the multiple locations being an issue and square still has the same problem. Why has this not been fixed yet?
The ability to completely remove locations from your account NEEDS to be made available. Many users add a location by mistake in the process of learning to use the software and as a result are left with permanent additional steps and selections cluttering up the dashboard and causing more confusion and potential errors in the management of their businesses and inventory.
For those of us in the rentals business, its very common to have small secondary storage locations for your equipment that may be used as a pickup/dropoff point for your customers. Many times these secondary locations are only semi permanent and often move, and being rather small areas in some cases you often run into property owners who choose not to renew a lease even to longer term locations because they have found someone to rent the entire large parcel or land rather than have multiple smaller renters. If you end up moving out of a location after setting it up in your dashboard you are now stuck with it being listed forever, and causing extra selections when making changes to your account that are not only totally unnecessary, but extremely likely to cause errors and misplacing of items, which will quite obviously cost business owners time and money.
I added a second location experimentally to see how it all worked and what functions it allows that might be useful. There was no warning that doing so was going to forever alter the process of some of my basic workflows and cause such a headache for my employees. In the weeks since this happened ive had constant requests to get the second location removed and when i found out that Square provides absolutely no recourse to this issue even though it seems like a very basic function with a high degree of necessity the requests have now shifted to finding a new invoicing system. Ive had few other problems with square and dont look forward to changing systems with all the time weve spent integrating it with all our advertisement and communication platforms but the inventory mixups causing items to be marked as unavailable of not shown at all is beginning to cost us enough time and money that its becoming more worth the switch.
Square says it will charge me for four locations when only three are activated. Originally, some employees had permissions to all four locations. Then I deactivated one (but I really want to delete it since no transactions have been made there!) I tried to uncheck the employee's access to the deactivated location, but Square said it would charge me for that location if I made that change.
I'm responding in hopes that one day I'll get a notification that this has been resolved! I also didn't know that it would haunt my dreams by not being able to delete locations. We don't even have a store front. We are vendors and I thought it would be helpful to add locations of each event we did. I also didn't know that it didn't mirror the inventory from your main location/account. So now I have all these extra locations that are annoying to see. And when I go to update the inventory, all these other locations still show up even though I've inactived them. Grrrrrr
From reading another post it seems an added feature allowing users to delete old or deactivated locations was requested back in 2016. Is this going to become a feature users can utilize? I worked vendor markets previously and I have several deactivated locations. I would like to remove those from my square completely. Has this option become a reality yet??
It seem like this feature should have been implemented a long time ago. I find it hard to believe it doesn't exist. If square wants clutter they should keep it in their background. If a location doesn't exist, duplicated, a variation and/or won't exist why not delete?
Oh, please! I’m a Square Champion. I try to test everything here, often in bogus locations because I don’t want to mess up my real business location. This is one of my biggest gripes.
At the least, we should be able to mark locations as non-production or test only so that they are ignored in the future. I totally understand not being able to delete/deactovate real locations that are no more because they closed, the ones that we indicate have real transactions. But otherwise give us some flexibility.
