December 2025 Square Loans

This is my 18th loan with square, these loans have helped build my business tremendously since 2019. my lowest offer being 2100 to now paying off my highest of 38,900 - 80% paid off - always early pay off before the due date metrics.. I know the usual square verbiage "no guarantee of an offer, must be 3/4th paid for any hopes" etc.. just wondering if anyone please in similar shoes as me, has seen an offer in December yet? I desperately need this holiday boost , all metrics green and I could almost swear id have one by now .. usually I hit from lowest 54% to highest 87% but majority have been BEFORE hitting 80%... getting anxious. Anybody getting a loan recently?

Hi @AQUINOTKD!

Appreciate you taking the time to post.

The “minimum payment” is the minimum amount you pay to keep your loan in good standing. Your repayment rate will continue to be applied to your daily card sales even if your minimum payment has been met. We are unable to lower or stop your repayment rate outlined in your loan agreement.

Hope that helps, please feel free to reach out to us directly if you have any other questions!

Any dips.i processing have a negative impact on eligibility to the best of my knowledge.

Honesyly a.manager at Square just told me yesterday that they cant even review my account for loan eligibility because if my account activity which would make sense if my account had no.activity but when Im processing lke 10k a month consistently that just doesnt add up to me at all. But Hopefully youll get a new offer sooner then later and hopefully they wont just overlook your account and start doing to you what they have been doing for me for years now which is well basically not a lot except allowing me to take credit cards as a payment method but at this point I think thats just about all they do for me orher then get me.realkt upset cause they wont do anythjng else.for.mt company at all really!

Algorithm does take different factors into play when it becomes familiar with your business and processing.  Every business is different.    From my own experience, when you go above and beyond your normal processing volume that is what triggers an offer earlier than normal.   Type of business, charge backs, failed debits ACH all play a factor.   It is a computer system Square uses for these "loans" so there is no way for a live agent to review your accounts.    I have been with square for 7 years and my offers have come anywhere from 62-100% paid off.   Once I waited 6 months after a loan was paid off.    I am also seasonal so my sales dip at certain times but it seems to have picked up on that over the years.    I know it is frustrating but from what others are posting is they are lending and have not slowed down at all.    Per some others, the state of economy plays a factor in amount of loan also.    The system is not going to lend you something you cannot pay back in the allotted time they give.   They are not going to overwhelm you.       Have you tried a local back or credit union?

Mine is definitely taking a huge dip right now and I’ve adjusted my hours to reflect but know the computer don’t understand that. I left one location and in transition into a new location so the in between time there are no sales. Gonna have to really hit hard with card sales when I go back to work Jan 5

I know for Thanksgiving it popped up Needs Work and also this afternoon. Only a hand full of places operate on Christmas day. That should be excused.

Mine popped up, too, and I was closed for half a day for Christmas Eve and Day. We got pounded by the ice storm on Friday. It takes a week, and I usually bounce back. There is a part in our settings for days open and closed. I totally forgot to adjust it this year. Good luck and hopefully soon!

I actually changed my settings and my hours and it didn’t help me but I can’t speak for everyone cause we all are different.

Hi All, any updates?  We are at 69% paid off and we are all in the green- have had several loan offers before and all came in at random amounts paid varying from 45-84%.  We're opening up our second location this month and it would be so helpful.  Was curious if square might be waiting until the new year in general.  Anyone with offers in late December?

One account was paid off 100% since December 16, we’ve been processing high volume I’ll say more than double but nothing triggers the offer yet lol.

another account is 89% and not so slow but consistent. No offer.

My other location paid off the 5th loan since August and don’t get another offer.

Other location got an offer last end of November and deposited December 1st on 81% highest offer.

one location experienced getting offers on 40% paid off in the past.
now we are on 50%

I have 5 locations in total and square is making it harder to understand..

5 locations, good for you!  Curious what your processing volume looks like at your highest offer location.  Also cool if you'd prefer not to to say.

Thank you .
I will say my processing was high and that Black Friday sales triggered it.last quarter of the year I’m always busy

it’s weird cause the one that’s busiest don’t get any offer even it’s 100% paid off since December 16

This really highlights how inconsistent it’s become. When you can have multiple locations, different payoff percentages, strong volume, and still no clear pattern, it’s hard to plan anything. You’re definitely not alone in feeling confused.

Just an update I received an offer this evening for about 1/4 of the loan I got last time and it needs to be paid back within 30 days. Im going to hold off on that in hopes something better comes in the upcoming days but just wanted to let you guys know they still are handing out loans apparently

Square is requiring it paid back within 30 days?  That's new, correct?  I've had 8 loans over 5 years and they have all been over 18 months.

Yep. Theyre calling it a "cash flow boost". $2,230.00 but pay it back in 30 days. Doesnt really make sense to me especially when I had $23,000 in sales the past 30 days but hey its square. Im looking to add a truck to my fleet of work vehicles so im gonna hold off in hopes of something better

I am so confused. I was counting on this to pay my rent. I’m used to offers $2K + now they’re saying I’m only available for $460…

what the hell?

I’m really sorry — that’s incredibly stressful, especially when you’ve been used to much higher offers. A lot of us seem to be seeing big changes all at once. Hopefully Square provides some clarity or improves the offers soon.

That’s exactly what’s throwing me off too. A short-term “cash flow boost” with a 30-day payback feels very different from the traditional offers, especially with strong recent sales. Hopefully better options roll out soon.

Yeah, this one was structured very differently. It showed as a short-term offer with a 30-day payback window, not the usual longer repayment period. Definitely not what I’ve seen in the past either, which is why I’m holding off for now.

Of course my processing now says “needs work” because we were closed on Christmas Day. 68%, over a year since my last offer (it is a large loan though).
