the 2 separate stands will sync all sales data and items and inventory automatically with each other.
depending on what printer you have you can have you can have 1 to dozens of stands connecting to one printer/cash drawer. the way we have our setup now is 2 square stands and each has its own ethernet printer with a cash drawer, and then all our mobile cash registers, 2 to 4 iPad minis in L7 cases, connect to one or the other printer. so you could set it up that both Square stands share 1 ethernet printer/cash drawer no problem, that will save you $300 sharing the printer and drawer. It will complicate things if you are trying to use cash management to monitor cash in the drawer.
