Order updates are very poor from Square! 😡 In fact their entire support infrastructure is cumbersome.

Hi @SimonH, thank you for being one of the first to order Square Handheld! We're excited to get it into your hands and pockets.

Regarding the shipping timelines, our current published guidance is that these units are expected to be dispatched 5-7 working days after the order is placed. When dispatched the order will then take our standard 1-2 working days to deliver. As soon as the order is dispatched you will receive an automatic shipping notification via email so that you know it is on its way.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with our customer support, I'll be sure to share the feedback with the team.

Hi @SimonH that's really strange to hear, as our experience to date has been really good when we have purchased items. I wonder if changes have been made to their system since I last purchased hardware. 🤔

I've just bought one and it looks great. Set up was painless. I set up an additional "user" specifically for this device since multiple people are likely to use it.

My only negative comment (so far) is that the packaging is completely excessive. The amount of cardboard used is ridiculous. In this day and age, I expected better from a responsible company.

Hi @tranguyen - will the handheld be offered with a built-in SIM card in the future? For use on the move? Or will it be Wi-Fi/hotspot only?

We liked it so much, we have got two for our cafe-bistro. It saves time to Kitchen by approx 2-3 minutes which may sound small but when you have several orders on the go, it really improves efficiency. Then this morning i discovered the bar code scanner and how to use this to manage stock better.... great addition to the business

Hey @Tebun-Nia, I'm not aware of any plan to include a model with a built-in SIM card in the near future. I've shared your feedback with our Product team as I can definitely see how this would be an useful feature to have!  

For now, the Handheld will only work with Wi-Fi or hotspot.
