Upcoming beta - Expanded features for automatic order numbering

Calling all F&B businesses! In the next couple of weeks, we're kicking off a beta to expand the functionality of automatic ticket/order numbering on POS. Specifically, this beta will offer support for: 

  1. Automatic ticket/order numbering on open orders 
  2. Customization of maximums above 99 for automatic numbering 

These features might be helpful for: 

  • Businesses that use automatic ticket numbering for quick sales today and want a higher max
  • Businesses who offer drive-thru and want their open orders named automatically (no need to type anything in) 

The beta will be available for all modes and in all countries where POS is available.

I don't necessarily need a higher number but I would like numbering to only apply to orders in specific categories.  That being said, sign me up for the beta.

We only print tickets for food items that we then deliver to tables.  It would help a lot for tracking orders if they were sequential and covered all numbers - instead of, for example, 1, 5, 6, 8, 13, 14, 21, etc.  I can't even search by order number (or at least I couldn't maybe that's changed now) so why would numbering all orders matter.  With that being said, order number search in transactions is very very needed.  Also, if I'm trying to track down a specific transaction, I'm more likely to do that by item, time, receipt number, customer name.

What happens to closed tickets? If the next number could stay in order that would be great!

We're using predefined tickets now and when you close a ticket it goes back in line, so if you need to close some before others, they get out of order and you end up with more than one customer with the same number if you're not paying attention.
