Will Square ever be able to accept Electronic Benefit Card (EBT) payments?

Will Square ever be able to accept Electronic Benefit Card (EBT) (food stamps) payments?

For the tons of businesses who use Square at Farmers' Markets alone, EBT acceptance is not just an option.  It is a MUST!  This feature needs to be added ASAP for the good of the consumer, business, and square.    Also, if it is true that TotilPay is encouraging Square businesses to drop the service and move solely to TotilPay, it's only smart business to implememt this feature on Square and kick TotilPay to the curb immediately!

SNAP / EBT is a must for both economic empowerment to merchants and serving customers some of which will only purchase using that assistance. Please offer a way in Square to do it safely - where the item catalog has a flag we set if something is EBT or not (by API / excel import) and then Retail POS will automatically separate into 2 separate carts to make the sale.

So, What is everyone doing for EBT? I have been trying to get someone at TotilPay to call me back for two weeks now, and have had no luck. Are there other options? Anyone has any advice? This is very frustrating.

Just forget it, square been asked this for over 10 years and say same thing, good idea they will pass it up to the development team and then nothing. We use a seperate small card reader and seperate vendor amd will switch from square once our equipment becomes obsolete.

Happy Selling!

Finally!! I been requesting for over 8 years and it has been requested for years before me. Thank you for update.

EBT is only active on and compatible with their Android devices (i.e., register, terminal, etc).  It is not compatible with IOS devices such as Square Stands.  Square really needs to get on board with their retail customers, as they are becoming more of a disappointment by the day.
