Select item quantity before adding to cart

Hi I would like to request this feature and I have not seen any other posts about it.

I would like to request that we can select the item quantity to be added to a cart before we scan/search an item. It would be a default of 1 every time but having a list/bar of 1-10 and also a "custom" number would be so helpful. 

This would save a lot of time during checkout because if a customer purchases 5x or even 15x of the same item, we have to either scan the number of times that item needs to be added to the cart, or scan/search once and then click on the item already in the cart to edit the quantity. This is not very efficient and slows down the checkout process.
