Menu Group Day/Time Restrictions Features

I currently use specific menu groups and Day / Time restrictions for meal deals on certain days which re-occur weekly. Currently the system allows you to create a menu group with a day/ time the items in that menu group are available. This works well for online ordering and QR code ordering. 

Additional Features I would like to see: 

-Allow this functionality to carry over to the POS also - Staff can be complacent at times I would like to remove that risk. 

-When the item / Menu Group is outside the ordering day or time - Have the option to automatically hide the group on the online site to remove clutter while ordering.

I think both of these suggestions would be great improvements, especially for restaurants and bars that offer recurring specials, happy hours, or certain menu items only on specific days!

Having those same day/time restrictions carry over to the POS would help eliminate human error and keep things consistent across all ordering platforms. Staff wouldn’t have to remember which specials are available at certain times because the system would help manage that automatically.

I also really like the idea of automatically hiding unavailable menu groups from online ordering rather than leaving customers scrolling through options they can’t currently purchase. It would create a much cleaner and easier ordering experience.

As a fellow Square seller, I’m always in favor of features that simplify daily operations and reduce unnecessary steps for both employees and customers.

I can’t confirm whether these enhancements are on Square’s roadmap, but they’re definitely worth considering! Great suggestions! 👏
