Feature the Ability to Track Product Expiry Dates

Feature the Ability to Track Product Expiry Dates

Howdy

Can see this question has been asked many times, and am confused.

Is this under developement with Square?

or

Is this a paid app - like Beep on iOS?

If so, can I please have the name of the 3rd party app

or

something else?

As a gluten free business, the management expiration date of goods is one of the key inventory functions, and am perplexed as to why this is "missing".

The competitor Shopify offer on the Shopify app store
SS: Product Expiration Dates

This function is critical for my business.

Can I please have feedback?

@Ganda61 and all.

Work is in progress on my app and so far it is looking good, if I may say so myself 😉. I am currently testing it in my production Square environment and am adding the expiry dates for the items in my store, which is a long and slow process with around 1000 different products.

Below is a screenshot of the main screen as it stand at the moment, to give everyone an idea as to where I am going with it, however this may change as I get new ideas and introduce new features.

Once I am comfortable with the stability and functionality of the app, I will investigate how to officially offer it for Square integration (I have no idea how this is done). Currently it runs locally on my computer and is not a cloud based app.

I just wanted to update the others in this thread, I am finalizing an app that I have created to track expiry dates of products in the Square inventory. I am finalizing a few things, and expect to release it within the next few weeks, when I will also release screenshots, and further details.

In short, the app pulls the Square inventory in real-time from the Square servers and allows the user to enter expiry dates for each unit/product in stock. There is also a graphical representation showing the breakdown of the expiring items over the next 52 weeks. Through the development phase, I have been using various iterations of it and have found it to be invaluable, and have repeatedly caught outdated products on my shelves, and ultimately, been made aware of expiring items so that I could remove them before it was "too late".

Update: The Expiry Tracker app is just about ready for release!

As mentioned before, the app syncs with the Square POS inventory and allows for the tracking of product expiration dates in realtime. Unlike  other options out there which are far more expensive and complex, it is not a secondary function of a larger suite of unneeded features. It is an expiration tracker and thats what it does. I have designed the app to be simple, straight forward and easy to use. The planned price, therefore, will be far more reasonable at 10€/month, or ~$11.75 at the moment. (I am in Euroland 🙂).

I am looking for my first users who will be given a period of free usage in return for their feedback. Please contact me if interested.

I have completed development on the app.

Hello, I have seen multiple thread with this question about expiry dates implemented into the square system for retail, so we can know when our products are expiring and then we can deal with it, with no answer for the past few years.

I was wondering if that is something that will be coming soon?
