Change employee sale attributed to

Our business is a hair salon that operates on commission. Sometimes our employees mis-attribute sales to other people who did not complete the sale. We need a way to edit these transactions and assign them to the correct employee for both accounting and payroll purposes. Because we use Payroll with commission, the employees who did not complete the sale end up getting paid, and the ones who actually made the sale do not. This is unacceptable.

How would this affect tips?

I also need a way to transfer tips from one staff member to another.  If this solved that, I would support it 100%!

My expectation would be that since tips are auto assigned to the service provider, tips would be changed also.  But that might not be true.

@SVLFever I would hope that you would support this request regardless of how it affects tips.  It appears with Square we need to ask for baby steps.  Maybe Square will reply and explain why this is complicated when to us as end users ... it seems like a simple ask.  I'm simply at a loss as to why the Administrator cannot make this change - yes, to both commission and tips.

Sorry, it was not my intent to lessen the importance of the original ask @Groompella .   I think it makes perfect sense on both fronts, and also think that if they do it for one, it will probably affect the other. (in a positive way)

@Everyone
has anyone actually seen Square actually resolve any of these asks/requests? I would be very curious to know if there is anything that they have actually fixed?

Square Champion

Yes @mitin it does happen.  Square obviously can't do development for just one person, hence the reason for these boards.  If enough people comment though, they will listen, and have in the past.   It also seems that they have made it a priortity to refocus their energy on making the best piece of software that they can, as indicated in the recent announcement/changes that they have made.  I'm personally excited to what the future is going to be with Square.

Hi @SVLFever
Thank you for your message. I understand they can't do development for every single requests, but anyone that has worked a cash register even in retail or such knows that mistakes happen and for square to limit us to edit the proper staff member is not acceptable and just poor development and application build,

This is basic functionality and not some ground breaking feature requests as square seems to make everything sound like.

I still have not received a response from Square as to why this is not available?

Square Champion

@kristen  Does anyone from @kpay1 even care to respond or fix these basic things, its been going on for years,
I think its time square take some accountability instead of deflecting everything under the "feature request" scapegoat remark.

Square Champion

@kristen Is there an update on this feature request? Its been open for few years now, this is not ground breaking development, this is pretty basic. What can we do to bump this up? I am sure this is a big reason for customer churn along with others

@mitin Still waiting and wishing for this update!
