Cash Rounding

Cash Rounding

People have been asking for the ability to round up hundreds of times, and Square indicates they can't do it, but in Canada, they got rid of the Penny years ago, and Square has a Cash Rounding feature already built into doing this.

It makes no sense that you can't add a feature to the US version allowing a business to round up or down cash sales automatically. Ideally, you could have user-selectable options for rounding - up only or up or down - plus amount to round to 0.05 or 0.10 or 0.25 or $1 rounding. Then, please create an account where this money could be tracked so users could apply it to a charity or an employee fund.

At the very least, let customers in the US turn on the Cash Rounding feature you've already built for Canada.

See this recent article on the Penny - if Square were to make a big announcement about getting rid of the penny, it might move the issue forward. Having my staff have to deal with pennies is a waste of time - please help us get rid of them.

@DroveThru I agree, an option to let us always round down would be helpful

My bank has informed me that they are no longer ordering pennies.  When the inventory at the branch runs out they will no longer have pennies available.  From what I understand this is happening all over the US, I am in New York state.  It will become necessary for the option to round to the nickel so our cash drawers are not just off every day.

Our bank mentioned this as well, they are no longer ordering pennies.

We run a brewery and would love to have a rounding option once pennies are gone.  It's a pain to do the math in our heads.

Also requesting this feature be implemented in the US asap.

Yep, seems like it's a necessity at this point considering the penny shortage.

Agree! If SQAURE can't fix this quick we will start looking into other POS options. Anybody have other suggestions?

The last pennies were minted yesterday. Rounding to the nearest nickel should be a priority.

The penny is officially dead. Eventually the ones in circulation will disappear. We need a solution sooner than later!

Piling on, need a fix ASAP. This didn't come out of nowhere. We've (Square users) been raising this issue for awhile, sort of frustrating to not have a solution yet.
