We operate a licensed mobile food business (food truck) classified as a transient mobile vendor. We do not have a permanent brick-and-mortar location. Our pickup location changes daily depending on events and bookings.
When setting up our Square account, we were required to enter a business address for legal, tax, and banking purposes. We entered our LLC mailing address, which must remain accurate and fixed for compliance reasons. However, Square currently forces that same business address to display publicly as the pickup address on the online ordering page, with no ability to hide it or override it.
This creates a serious operational and customer-safety problem.
Customers repeatedly travel to our LLC mailing address because Square prominently labels it as the pickup location on the checkout page, even when we clearly communicate the correct event location elsewhere. This has already caused lost orders, customer frustration, and potential liability concerns.
Frontline support has confirmed there is currently no way to separate the public-facing pickup location from the registered business mailing address. The only suggested workaround is to remove pickup entirely and use "Other," which breaks the core online ordering flow and creates more confusion for customers.
This limitation fundamentally prevents Square from properly supporting mobile vendors, food trucks, and other transient businesses.
I am also part of large nationwide food truck communities, and this exact issue appears constantly. Many mobile business owners resort to displaying inaccurate business information just to make online ordering functional, which forces them into being operationally usable but not fully legally compliant. No business should have to choose between accuracy and functionality.
From a product standpoint, the solution is straightforward and highly impactful.
For businesses registered as transient or mobile, Square should allow the owner to edit the public-facing pickup location independently from the registered business mailing address, so customers always see accurate, event-specific pickup information when placing orders.
This single change would immediately unlock Square as a truly viable platform for mobile vendors, improve customer experience, reduce liability risk, and significantly strengthen Square’s competitiveness in the rapidly growing mobile food and event-based commerce space.
This is not a minor feature request. It is a core structural requirement for an entire category of businesses that Square actively markets to and serves.
Thank you for your consideration.
