Add Ons for Appointments

Hello there,


Is there any chance of an option to use add ons for appointments being in the works? For instance, the customer selects the service on the first part of the form, then goes to add ons for that service before the customer info form.


The current possible work around for this is to have 10s and 10s of drop down options with various combinations of add ons, which is not only tedious to set up, but a bad and confusing UX for the customer.


It's not only a chance to upsell for us, but will inflate the transaction amount to increase Square's revenue, and it would undoubtedly steal users away from a competitor (I won't name them so this doesn't appear as an advert) which only has paid options, but offers this feature.


Square is better than them in every way, but it's really hard to justify using it when it's missing this feature which would leave too much money on the table.


I saw a post on here from 2019 where there were several posts saying this was being looked at or in development, but can't find anything on the topic so here I am.

This update is ABSOLUTELY needed. As someone in the beauty business this would help myself and clients. 

I'm opening a party business with multiple rooms. I'm going to have to sign up for the Premium version of Appts to be able to control the rooms. HOWEVER, my whole purpose is a one-stop stress free party venue. The customer/client will choose a party room, party theme, drinks, pizza, and other add-ons. I sat here for 4 hours last night working through this as best as I could with Modifiers only to find out that they don't even show up on the site. I only see my party options. The add-ons are where the money is and the more money I make, the more money Square makes. 

 

Unfortunately, I may have to find another software to use for this feature. They are out there. This stinks because I already purchased a Square POS Register to use for my new store/party venue. I will say that I'm excited to be able to use Square Teams and Shifts. I was hoping Square would be my "One Stop Shop" also, but that doesn't look like the case. I was really hoping it was just operator error, but I stumbled along this and see that it's not.

As a massage therapist who offers add-ons with appointments, this is a must-have feature. We should be able to specify if an add-on should add extra time to the appointment (such as adding extra time for reflexology, a nap, etc.), and we should be able to specify if those add-ons incur additional cost. Some massage therapists or spas charge for aromatherapy, for example, and some do not. Aromatherapy would not add time to the appointment session.

 

It would make the process a lot easier for the client to select their service without being overwhelmed by a billionty-eleven variations (as I'm currently trying to set up). Select their massage and session length, select any add-ons if desired, select date and time, done. This is an industry standard scheduling flow.

 

Hey Square, let's make it easy for folks to give us their money (so we can give you some as well), rather than confusing and cumbersome.

My salon would also appreciate this feature. If each add-on could have its own time and price as well, with an option of limited or unlimited add-ons.

This has been an ongoing request since 2019. I've seen this go from 'Reviewed' to 'Open' and then not much past that. Any updates on when we can hope to be able to incorporate this long-requested feature?

May I ask what the team is monitoring exactly? If responses get to a certain number of complaints then a more serious look will be taken at the feature request? 

There is no criticism in that question. It would be nice to have a measurable gauge instead of generics, if possible?
