Ability to delete locations

I made a mistake and added an extra location. I do not want it in my drop down selection boxes. I want to remove the extra location not just deactive it! I want it gone!

To be able to permanently delete a location

As a new user of Square I try out new features, I accidentally added a location because my first location had issues linking to google. It's frustrating to not be able to delete the location when I entered it as a sample location. I also don't have a physical location for my business so I don't want extra locations there because it creates confusion for bookkeeping purposes. There should be a feature to completely just delete the location. I know there is an inactive feature but I don't want to see the location there.

 

I have same issue with invoices too as I created a wrong invoice which was sent then cancelled and is unable to delete which again affects my financial statements. 

 

Square should be more flexible and allow users to learn and make mistakes and then delete it.

I am frustrated with the location option. I am the owner and some how I am listed as the location. Now I cannot see my inventory or update my inventory. I am afraid to deactivate location for myself because I am concerned I may lose everything. All I want to do is see my inventory and update it.

Any update on whether or no this is being consider? I am to the point of exploring other options for my POS

I'm getting highly annoyed at this as well. I just want to delete a location that was completely entered wrong on my end. Please advise how I can delete this mistake.  I can't stand even seeing it on my DASHBOARD and it is deactivated. 

I just siged up for Square and find this annoying as well!!! I disabled the location, but it still comes up in all the other pages as options that I have to unclick. WTH Square? Fix this **bleep**. 

This thread is marked as resoved but it is not yet resoved whether Square will create an option for users to delete unwanted locations.  Just an inkling as to whether Square would like to create this feature but are struggling due to technical difficulty or whether Square, for whatever reason, has no intention of creating this feature would be good to know.  Kindly give us some indication of Square's intention rather than referring us back to a wishy-washy "I'll let the project manager know" kind of answer.

@holidaymarket - Happy to help clarify. While we have marked an answer as "Best Answer," it's only so it floats to the top of thread. It also adds a check mark when searching in the Seller Community. We just want to make it easy for other sellers to find the official response from Square. It can be a little cumbersome to read through long threads.

 

As for your feedback, I totally understand. While I wish we had the ability to fast track feature requests - it's a pretty complicated process. A lot of consideration goes into our product improvement and feature request process. Having said that, the more customer interest we see for a feature, the more likely it's prioritization will increase. It's not our intention to mislead any of sellers, but please rest assured, your feedback does go a long way: trust me. 

5 or 6 months *should* be sufficient to get a system change in place.  I am an architect for a very large enterprise system, in which 8 or the 10 top lenders are our clients.  When *our* clients ask for a change at the level of this, saying "we'll get to it when we get to it" never suffices as an answer.

 

How about the dev team puts this on a road map and reports back as to the intended release date?  Hit or miss, at least provide the customers here with some expectations instead of "your feedback is valued, believe me".   Much easier to believe if the company provided solid feedback instead of eventual replies, with no substance, in a message board.

 

Not a personal attack, but I believe Square could do more to resolve the issue.

I created a device to test, then deactivated. As far as I can tell there is no way to delete which is really frustrating because now when I go to my inventory, it makes me pick a location. I don't need to do this, and I didn't have to before I created the device.

I too am having trouble with locations. I sell at several schools. Each one is a location with a website so the parents can order from home and pick up at the school on the day we are there. Recently one of my charter schools closed. So now I have an inactive location on my dashboard that I will never use again. Please help me to delete it. Honestly it should be a pretty obvious feature. Not sure why this has been over looked.
