ALLOW DUAL PAYMENTS WHEN BALANCE FOR GIFT CARDS DOES NOT COVER THE TOTAL FOR SERVICES

PLEASE FIX THE FUNCTION FOR WHEN GIFT CARD BALANCES ARE BELOW THE TOTAL FOR SERVICES. THEY WORK FOR ITEMS. LET THE DIFFERENCE BE PAID WITH ANOTHER CARD. ITS BEEN ALMOST TWO YEARS AND NO HELP. I CALL AND THEY SAY SUBMIT HERE. I SUBMIT HERE AND THEY SAY CALL. ITS AWFUL.

 

I have a $30 gift card, balance is $31.80 and my customers cant use it.

@johnson_1320 This should really be addressed, as it is not the best experience for the customer. Customers should be encouraged to use their gift card regardless of whether it is an item or appointment and how much balance is left on it. I hope the team addresses this in the near future. 

@TCSlaguna Its the run around that has finally got to me. Its like I'm talking to wall but still paying that wall fees and yearly subscription. I am not a programmer but to me it seems like it should work if it works for items under the same system. The "team" is protected behind this website or the phone. Its incredibly frustrating to have no answer. I am probably going to run the rest of 2025 on this platform and leave if I don't get a change. I cant function as a business with this silly hitch in the checkout process.

@johnson_1320 Couldn’t you do a split payment? Take the 1.80 as the first payment, then run the gift card for 30.00. 

@rtfulk It doesnt allow this through their website. We do not have a card reader or POS at our place. It is all done online if that makes sense. I understand I should have clarified that as my main issue.

@johnson_1320 Ok, I understand now. It would be a good idea to allow multiple cards to be used like most websites offer now.

@JJ_ It is nice to see a response but again, please just explore the payment options without searching for other owners to like this. It just continues the run around for me and does not offer any timeline for a potential fix.

 

I could be wrong but I don't think people search these forms often enough to provide the likes you are looking for. My thought is that someone who has access to a gift card basically has "cash" and should be able to use it for any type of payment.

 

I can use it for items. Just add this option for online services. It doesn't seem that big if an issue. I understand the accounting side may need updated but it should be very similar to what is already in place for items. I fine with anyone telling me I am wrong but what am I missing? I pasted a picture below of me selling an item on my website with a gift card. I just want this option for services. Hopefully the image supports my argument.

Unfortunately, I have not heard of any updates on this at this point. If I do though, I will definitely post back here promptly!

@Sammie_C thx. For what it’s worth, I’ll probably leave square if not solved by December. Can’t operate this way for my business. It’s not a big issue to fix and the wall between real support and the customer is awful.
