Test Partial Payments in the Invoices Request Deposit Beta

Hey everyone!

I’m excited to announce that we’ve rolled out a beta for accepting partial payments with Square Invoices!

This new feature will allow you to create a single invoice and track multiple payments on that invoice. This may also be useful for those of you who want to accept a deposit and collect the rest of the amount due later.

We know this is a feature many of you have been waiting for, so I hope you’ll help us test it out!

Same situation - deposit was cash and now I need to charge a card and cannot do so due to the error message on my phone app

I ended up having to get the customer to do the payment themselves from the invoice that was sent to them.  Or, on the desktop you can go in and adjust the invoice to 'manually send' it will then send you a link to the invoice which you can then go to and put the credit card details in.

I hope that makes sense.  Its a clunky way of doing it. but it will work in the shrot term until they get the bug fixed.
