Feature Request: Pause orders via my Square Online website using the Square Point of Sale app

The title of this post has been edited from the original: I'm getting orders in my online store after changing hours to closed.

 

I often have to temporarily close my food cart or change hours.  For now, I am doing this through: Settings > Pickup & Delivery > Hours.   However, I am still receiving orders after changing my hours to "closed" (my poor customers are actually coming to visit my cart and finding out that the cart is closed.  Which does not look good on us at all.....)

 

Is there a better way to change hours for the day?

 

Temporary closure function would be very helpful.

Hi there, @greenecanteen - so sorry for the confusion here. I am referring to the Online Dashboard. Here are the direct steps:

 

1. Log into the Square Dashboard

2. Go to Online Store (this took me to weebly)

3. Click "Settings", then "Checkout". 

4. Toggle switch at top of that page that says "Accept online orders"

I faced similar situation where a guest was able to place an order at 3 AM for pickup!!

We second this, happens almost every weekend. We wish there was an option to turn off online orders from the POS

Joe, I dont think this is an option from the POS? I think this is only possible from the Dashboard?

Has there been any evolvement on this? This is so important for any F&B operation and 'seems' like a small thing to implement?

Please Square, add an option to pause online orders to the POS

To date, there has been absolutely nothing in the form of a response from Sq in the last month or more on this issue. I don't know if they are waiting on more requests or what. Don't know what to say. We are still desperate to have this option!

You are correct. It is only possible thru the dashboard. That is why we are asking/pleading for something that can be done on POS for a short term relief so we don't need to give out our passwords to staff in order to get this done.

We just had this happen to us today

 

Despite the fact that we are closed, the online order system allowed a customer to order and the system gave them an estimated delivery time today! We ran in to make one bouquet because we didn't want to disappoint our customer! Our settings plainly show we are closed Sunday and Monday! 

 

I went on and tried to make an order and low and behold the system told me I could pick it up today or have it delivered. Wtf is going on‽

 

I have people that order in advance for funerals and birthdays. I'm not shutting my cart off when this thing should be smart enough to give customers pickup times when we're actually open.

I checked the hours you have set for your location in Settings > Pickup & delivery, @CadrilFleuriste, and it looks like you have hours set for Monday. If you edit the location and then edit the hours to remove that day, it should prevent people from requesting pickup or delivery on Monday.
