Feature Request - Ability for Customer to upload images, files to Square Online

Hi there,

I am toying with the idea of building an online store. Bit of background, I own a small gift printing store. In order to take online sales i will need to allow customers to upload their photos when adding an item to the basket. 

I can do this via woocommerce or opencart. However id like to keep all my invoices and orders tied in with square in one place.

So my question is, using squares website building platform, can a customer upload a image while adding an item to the cart as well as a text submission for names and dates etc...

@JayHarvs Apparently, after all these years, we're not an important enough group of customers to warrant adding the feature. The problem is that Square Online is blatantly an after-thought for their in-person POS system. They'll never add it because it seems like makers who do custom work aren't a priority or even a blip on their radar. As of right now I have fully transitioned my business to Shopify because this feature is missing from Square Online. I ran all of December using Shopify POS for local sales and just about have my Shopify website ready to launch. Unlike Square, I haven't had a single time where I got an error trying to save a new product. @Laurie_ You all really should do more listening.

Cancelling my full square setup this week - I received notice that my level of pricing is being discontinued and will *double* for no additional features that I need. Wonder how big the mass exodus will be with this pricing change and SO MANY FLAWS with square online. I stayed because the competitor was more expensive… but now they’re cheaper AND check all my boxes. Bye!

@laurenrollett Welcome to the bright side. Shopify can get speedy if you need a bunch of apps, but if you only need a couple, it is a great platform. I'm pretty happy with "Eazy Custom Product Options" works for my custom orders, but there are a number of other good ones too.

This is a joke, it's 2024 and this feature still isn't available, and there is still no time frame given. You would think, 4 years of requesting such a simple feature would give results. We need this feature, we needed it 4 years ago!!!

I can certainly appreciate your frustration, @murtz, and I wish I had further news to share with you on this. While we don’t have any updates at the moment, if this changes we’ll be sure to loop back on this thread and let everyone know.

Instead of revamping packages and moving features from one price point to the next, why are we not adding an important feature? 

It's like the office is bored and doesn't know what else to do other than shift packages around... here's an idea...

Create a way to upload digital files from a consumer stand point.  

It has been highly requested for years and this is the ONLY platform that doesn't offer it.  

Is there a reason behind why it isn't being designed?

Thanks for reaching out for an update on this. I’ve taken a look, and unfortunately there aren’t any planned updates that would address this feature request. 

I can see that you’ve posted a related comment in an existing thread where other Sellers have shown their support for the feature request, and discussed potential workarounds. So, in the interests of keeping all interested parties up to date, I’ve merged this thread with the original. 

I’ll be sure to circle back with an update if there are any developments on this.
