Feature Request: A report that displays the ZIP codes associated with payments

Feature Request: A report that displays the ZIP codes associated with payments

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Having a sales report that shows location of transactions

Is it possible in the sales reports to breakdown the sales by location (preferably zip code) if all transactions are done on the same account?

Most of our transactions take place at our one store, but sometimes we have transactions done on mobile devices that take place in other cities at farmers markets that we do. In order to calculate sales taxes, which vary by city and county, I would like to be able to see how much of the total monthly sales were done in which locations.

Thanks for letting us know that @Iceman! I will send your request to the Reporting team. I see how this type of report would help you manage and grow your business!

Is there any way to track sales by customers billing address? We are interested in finding out the zip codes of our customers - so we can determine where to target our ad buys.

@Barb3 Your customer's location isn't included in sales reports. As a workaround, have you tried using the Export tool on your Customer Directory? When you use this you you can see the ZIP code that was entered to their profile (under the column Postal Code) as well as the total amount they've spent at your business (see the column Total Spend).

To export your Customer Directory:

  1. Navigate to the Customers section of your online Square Dashboard.
  2. From the Directory tab click Import/Export in the top right > select Export Customers.
  3. You can choose to export All Customers or a Specific Group.
  4. A CSV file will download to your computer and you can open it with a program like Excel.

Hope this helps but if you have questions about this please let me know!

I want to track the customes zip not the location of the sale, is that possible?

@PurpleSally I've moved your post to this thread so you can read the current workaround for this. I hope it helps!

Is it possible to capture a customers zip code at the register upon check out or before check out. I would like to keep track of my clientele demographic area for research.

there is not a way to force it to be done but you can add a customer to a sale and enter as little or as much information as you want.

This reply was created from merging an existing thread: where did sale take place?

Is there a way to find out where the sale took place? Does the square record this information?

@texasvic I'm adding your post to this thread where you can see the current ways to track the location of a sale. If you have any other questions reply here to let me know.
