Which gift cards can I use on Square?

has anyone used old gift cards from previous owner/ business that you now own or ordered gift cards (new ones)  from a 3rd party location and use/load them here on Square.

You have to order giftcards through Square and they are coded to your account.  They will not work on any other account.
