Unlimited car wash progran

We have a square system at my car wash.  We would like to consider going to any unlimited wash program, wherein we affix a bar code sticker to a car, scan it with a  the bar code scanner tied into our square system.  We will want the scanner to verify instantly if the customer was on the monthly program and also would alert us if the customer credit card automatic payment had been received or "wasn't received".  Is anyone using this process at car wash through the square register system ?  If the process I detailed above is not exactly what you are using, but are using another program through square then I would like to know more

about what you are using ?  Thanks for any help or guidance.

I don't know how to PM you but if you can PM me I would like to find out what you discoverd. I too have a car wash and would like to do exactly what you are talking about with a bar scanner. Or if you know of another system?? I don't want a second POS terminal. I have googled this and can't find anything. We have been asked about this service by customers for 7 years but between the economics of pricing it, contract language, POS System, and marketing the service, I have not had much luck at the associations or with google searches.

I don't think you can do that with square automatically,  there is no monthly subscription option for now.
You cannot track subscriptions automatically.

You need specific system for your industry, any workaround  with square ( Adding customers as ITEM, having barcode added… then you have to edit monthly  customers that paid and remove ones that didn’t…)  would be tedious job and not efficient.

@denardis @SOAPHAND - Definitely sounds like an interesting feature! You would probably need to have a developer create an app specifically for this type of workflow. You could use Square's public API's if you still wanted us to process your credit card transactions. 

@Lima - Thanks for your help. On a side note, we do allow sellers to charge a recurring invoice with a card on file (subscription). It's a fairly new feature, though. 🙂

Did you figure out a way to do this? I have a carwash & want to move to Square & would love to know how you have it set up, including unlimited washes. Any help would be awesome!!

I did but its cumbersome and there has been a lot of work needed. Recurring Invoices help which square offers now. I suggest calling square and asking them on the phone. It barely works now and will take a fair amount of management which I am not happy about.

Also the Square API was of no use to my developer who sited many restrictions to the amount of info square limits in their API.

We use Square POS system at a car wash location in Illinois and LOVE everything about it, and for the monthly recurring billing we use paypal and we receive an email from paypal everytme a payment is mad and adjust the expiration date at Sqaure pos system "Customer info"
