We were excited about the "repeat" feature in Square for restaurants, but have found what we would consider a glitch in the system. We're a busy bar and grill, and most customers order multiple drinks on their ticket.
When using the repeat button this is what happens:
1. Customer orders a vodka - we add to ticket. Ticket says vodka.
2. customer orders another one - we swipe right on the item "vodka" and hit repeat... it now says "vodka x 2"
3. Customer orders another one - we swipe right on "vodka x 2" and hit repeat- and instead of adding 1 more drink it now adds 2 more drinks. If it said vodka x 3.... it would add 3 more drinks, etc.
So repeating drinks on the item line only works once. After that it repeats the multiple quantity instead of just adding one more drink at a time.
Anyone found a solution for this? Beyond having to add the drink from the menu every other time?
Thanks!
Thanks for the question @lovemychaos. Repeat is great for the scenario you're talking about, so hope I can help!
If you are saving the ticket in between repeats, then it should work as you're expecting.
1. Open a ticket
2. Add vodka
3. Save ticket
4. Open ticket again
5. Vodka appears in "Sent Items" (or "Fired Items" if you have coursing)
6. Swipe to repeat Vodka
7. Single vodka added to ticket
8. Repeat steps 3-7 (as desired)
If you are repeating all at once without saving, then what you described is correct. The better option in that case is to simply edit the quantity of the vodka.
1. Open a ticket
2. Add vodka
3. Tap vodka in cart
4. Tap Edit
5. Tap quantity (top right)
6. Select new quantity (e.g. 5)
7. Save
