SQUARE for Restaurants and Square KDS

Hello Square Community!

 

I need help. We are are a counter service cafe, and recently switched to SQUARE KDS from Fresh KDS. We are struggling with the check-out process, because it requires additional steps in order to send an order to the kitchen with a customer NAME attached to the order: creating a new check, entering a name, sending the order to the kitchen, then going back to the home menu page, viewing checks, selecting the check and continuing with the transaction process. 

 

In the past, we could go select pay button, enter the name, then swipe a customer's debit/credit card. Transaction complete. Done.

 

For a business that needs to optimize throughput, these additional steps are killing us. 

 

Is there something I'm missing? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for providing feedback about your experience with Square KDS so far, @CoffeeShop

 

As this is a new system, your feedback is extremely important while we continue building and improving it. FreshKDS is created as a printer, so we had a printer setting for it, but we haven't replicated that for Square KDS just yet. I'll be sure to pop in here with an update when I have news to share about this 💫
