Purchasing Gift Cards

If someone buys a gift card from my shop, does the money go to my shop or get loaded onto a gift card until they spend it?

You'll receive the funds from the gift card purchase upfront! Then future purchases made with the gift card will show in your reporting as such. Hope that helps clarify, let me know if you have additional questions.

So should I get a separate bank account just for gift cards and leave the money in their until  They redeem them?  So basically we get paid upfront for the gift card and when they use the gift card that's just going to give us like a report of what they purchased?  How exactly does it work?

You do not need another bank account.  You receive the money the moment you load the card.  No need to hold it separately or in escrow.

When they pay they will swipe the gift card just like a credit card and will reduce their bill by the amount on the gift card (or have a balance leftover they can use next time) and they can pay any balance with additional funds.

Gift cards are listed separately on your sales dashboard.
