Old service items showing in Register for checkout but greyed out in the items list so can't delete

 There are old salon services showing up on my register app even though they've been deleted from the appointments app (they were mistakenly put under items a long time ago but have been removed & correctly put into the services).  But on the register app, those old services show up in the checkout area but when I click on "items" to go in and delete them, those are all greyed out & I can't delete them.  I don't want them to show up on the register for checkout.  Can I delete them?

That's strange, @swalter62626

 

Have you tried removing the services from your Dashboard Item Library? As long as they are not listed there or in your Services in Appointments, they shouldn't be showing in the Register app. Let me know!

Yes I've removed them from my dashboard item library on my mac.  They show up in the register app greyed out in my All Items.

Apologies for the delay, @swalter62626! So I did a little more testing and I was mistaken; you will need to delete the services from your Appointments Services dashboard, and they will no longer appear in the app. Apologies for the confusion!

I'm sorry SPenser, but I have deleted them from my Square Appointments Services from my dashboard online on my Mac.  They only show up in the Register app.  If I try to check someone out in Register, they show up in black & can be added to the transaction, but when I go into the Items on the Register app, they are greyed out like the picture I attached.  The old services are no longer in my dashboard in the Appointments that I use on my Mac.  

 

This is a screenshot from my Mac showing the correct services.  The services that are greyed out in the previous picture are not in this current service list since they've been deleted.

Specifically, they're still listed here in Appointments services: https://squareup.com/appointments/services

 

Once you remove them from that list - click the little trashcan icon - they will also be removed from the Register app. Let me know how it goes!

I am so confused.  I'm sorry.  I followed your link which took me to my "services" tab on my appointments calendar on my mac.  The ones I'm trying to get rid of all say "variable" in the price column on Register.  On my mac, they have appropriate pricing..  While on my mac, I am online and not in an app (I don't think there is an app for the mac anyway).  When on my mac, those services which all say "variable" in price are not in my services.  They only show up in the Register app.  They are black & will allow me to ring them up when in Register and I click on the bottom right tab that pulls up the list of services to add to a transaction.  When I'm in Register & choose "items" from the sidebar, they are all greyed out.  I have no way to delete them from Register that I can find.

OK. I have FINALLY found a solution to deleting variable items that show up in my POS app.

 

1. Sign in to Square browser website.

 

2. In the upper left "Search Dashboard and Support", enter the item name that appears as "variable" in your POS/Appointments app.

 

3, Find your item in search results and delete. Voila!
