Make sure it's fully charged, Other than the ones that have been broken when I got them, a low battery has always been the problem when the reader won't work. The battery doesn't last very long, even without use.

had it pluged in all night and there was a green light. still does not read card. When I plug it in I get a message saying reader connected.

Hi @george1968, thanks for making sure the reader is charged! 

I recommend making sure your device is compatible with the chip card reader. If it is compatible these troubleshooting tips should help. 👍
