Moving from the US to Okinawa, Japan

I am relocating to Okinawa, Japan and trying to find out what I need to do to continue to sell using Square POS. I’ve had several colleagues tell me that even after registering a new account in Japan they were unable to accept any payments.

Thanks for writing in, and welcome to the Seller Community 👋

 

The country of a Square account can't be changed, so you'll have to create a new Square account, with a different email address to get started in Japan. Just keep in mind that the sign up screen will change to Japanese once you select Japan as your country! There's a sign up, and verification process that's similar to what you went through for your US account, that you'll need to complete to activate your new account as well. You can find our sign up page here.
