Modified or variation

I’m selling danishes, scones, and cookies. Right now we have an item entry for each flavor.. if I wanted to just list danishes and have the flavors selected by drop down for clients to select, would that be a modifier set or a variation?

For online store layout, the Variation will show up in dropdown list.  The modifier set will show up as check boxes.

If you want customers to select only 1 choice/flavor, then variation is the way to go.

If you want customers to be able to select multiple choices/flavors, then modifier is the way to go.  (Modifier set can also limit to only 1 choice/flavor as well.)
