Is there a way to look up gift card amounts besides through the account at the store it was purchased?

There's unfortunately not a way to check gift card balances aside from through the seller's app in store or dashboard at this time.
I understand that'd be a useful feature and I can let the product team know you're looking for that if you'd like!
Yes please do. With my situation it would help customers from the prior business owner be treated honestly as Iobviously i have no access to his Square account. Customers paid him money to load these cards and now he’s trying to get out of paying us or the customers back. Very dishonest

Hello again. We were able to get the previous owner to acknowledge he is able to get into his account. Now the issue is that many customers gave their phone number instead of using their card or card number to use itheur card and no longer have their card. The previous owner is now saying he needs the card number to get the card balance. How was it possible for them to use their card by phone number and now their phone number no longer brings up theirs card? Am I missing something or is the previous owner still being dishonest?
@HCcoffee Hmm it's possible they may of had Loyalty here and the gift cards were stored within that. Can you reach out to us directly at: squ.re/contact and request to speak to one of our Loyalty specialists? They will be able to take a closer look into this to confirm.

If there are Gift Cards from the old business, Square Support miiiiight also be able to transfer over the Gift Card data. Worth a shot to ask!
