It says one coupon per customer but my customer just used three?

I have a $5 off coupon code that is marked one per customer and attached to specific items. My customer just bought three of the same item and it gave her $15 off. How to do avoid this?

I assume you are talking about online sales.  I would verify your settings in your online store coupon details and make sure the limit per customer is blue (turned on) and that the limit is 1 per customer.

It is turned on. That's why I'm confused as to why my customer was able to apply it three times

Hi @enthusiastarts

Unfortunately, we do not have a way to set a max limit on specific items being discounted. If the item is set to be discounted with the coupon code, then it will apply to all of those specific items that are in the cart.

The "limit coupon code per customer" option will only prevent the coupon from being used with more than one transaction.

I can pass along your feedback for you, but at this point it would be considered a feature request to limit the coupon per item.

@BernadetteA Well, that sure isn't what I expected with those options.  I just launched our preorder website yesterday and have a free donut hole box coupon and yeah if I add 10 boxes it takes off 10 coupons.  In what world is that how a coupon with an option to limit it work?  That's crazy.  Hopefully, no one abuses it but in no way was that what I would have expected to happen given my options on the setup page.
