I can no longer modify items After opening any item, my PC immediately locks and I have to force close the window. Never had this problem until Square updated menu.

If you haven't already, I'd suggest giving these troubleshooting tips a run-through as they usually resolve any dashboard issues right away. If, after that, the screen keeps locking up, please send a screenshot of the error to our Support Team. They'll be able to have a closer look and get this sorted out.
I am having the same issue. There is no error message. The browser simply stops responding.
I finally figured out Square will only let you make menu changes under Chrome. If I access it from there, it works every time!
