How to pair Square Terminal with "Square Retail" app on iPad

Does anyone know if you are able to pair the Square Terminal with the "Square Retail" (the green one) application on iPad? I know you are able to pair it with the regular "Square" (the white one) application but there does not seem to be a way to pair it with the Square Retail app. 

I was hoping that for the $60/month I would be able to use my computer to generate barcodes and then use my socket mobile bluetooth scanner to check people out on the iPad and use the square terminal as the checkout screen so my team members do not have to touch the customers card and so the customer will have their own terminal.

I assume, given that this is an easy feature to add to the Square Retail app, that they do not want us to do this because then there would be no point in purchasing the Square Register.

Square Retail cannot be paired with our Square Terminal at this time, but we can see how this would be helpful for your business.
