How to change business name after a certain date and keep old business name intact prior to date

My business name changed on 2/1/19 and I want to use my new business name going forward and have the old business name remain on transactions from prior to this date. I changed the business name on 2/1/19, but all of the previous transactions have been changed to the new business name.

For clarification, are you referring to your business name being listed on reports?

Yes, the new name on reports and on all of the transactions, regardless of the date of the change

@BarryLessin When you change your business name it won't affect your reporting or transaction details. However, the business name on all receipts will be updated if you change your business name. 

Is it a completely different name or are you opening a new business? 

If you don't want receipts to be updated you could create a new account or create a new location instead. 

The benefit of creating new location is that you can match your existing item library and manage both locations from your Dashboard. The downside is that you'll have to select a location when you sign into the app - even if you're no longer using one of them. (You can deactivate a location, but you can't delete one.)
