How do you change an amount you've entered before you tap 'Charge'?

I entered the wrong dollar amount, can't find a way to delete and enter the correct amount.

Go to menu / transactions - find the transaction and return it.  Then you can ring a new sale with the correct information.

What if the amount isn't in the transactions yet?

Hi @tessala3! Do you mean how do you delete the amount before you've tapped Charge? You can change the amount of a custom payment by tapping the 'C' in the bottom left hand corner of the key pad in the app.

When you tap C it will clear the amount entered and you'll see $0.00.

If you've added an item to a sale and you want to remove that item:

  1. Tap Current Sale at the top of the screen.
  2. Tap on the name of the item > tap Remove Item.

I hope this helps but if you were looking for something else please let me know!

That’s my problem. I don’t have the “C” option on my IPad. I do on my iPhone. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it but still no C. I’m now assuming my older iPad does not support the newer Square app. Going to the Apple store to check it out. So nerve wracking when I can’t get a wrong charge out of the system easily when a customer is waiting.

Very sorry for the concern this has caused @tessala3!

Actually if you're on an iPad you won't see the C I mentioned. Instead, you should see an arrow to the right of the keypad. You can tap this arrow to clear an amount entered.

It should look a bit like this on your iPad (the arrow is in grey):

Your iPad screen might look slightly different if you haven't added items to the cart as shown here ('Croissant' etc) but you should still see the back arrow.

It's always a good idea to make sure both your iPad and Point of Sale app are up to date and the good people at the Apple Store will be able to check that for you. Definitely let me know if you have any more questions about this. Happy to help!
