There are a few different ways to accept a payment with Square! The most common way is to swipe or dip a card. Once you've downloaded the Square Point of Sale App on your mobile device, just follow these steps:
From here the customer will sign for the transaction and choose a method for a receipt. Then thats it!

Can you take a payment without swiping the credit card but instead just entering the credit card information? Does the payment have to be accepted via the app?

Is it possible to receive payments without sending invoices? Like for a customer to send me random bit of money to pay down a balance without me having to create an invoice? If so, how?
(kinda like venmo or PayPal, but they're not HIPAA compliant, and I'm pretty sure square is)

Did a customer purchase the gift cards from you? If so, those funds would go to your connected bank account or debit card when they were purchased.

I am a little unclear on the question you're asking. Did you purchase the gift cards or were they purchased by a customer? Usually, the gift card numbers are sent to the customer, so they can use it for their purchases.
When the gift card is purchased, the money will be transferred to your bank depending on your deposit schedule.

I swiped and everything went through ok. Even my customer got a message that you took their payment.

Are you using a Square Online store? Or another provider's site?
If it's another provider, there could be a break in the integration.

I got a new phone and the Square App only allowed manual payments. The payments were accepted however I never received them in my bank account. How can I get my payments?

Sorry to hear about the trouble here. Have you linked a bank account to your Square account already? You can check if there's a verified bank account in your Dashboard unde Account & Settings > Account > Bank Accounts. Please let us know how you go!

Open the Point of Sale App.

I did all of this and says it was deposited but not seeing it in my square balance? We're is my payment from my customer they signed and sent and I sent them a receipt? So why is the money not showing up on my balance?
