I want to start implementing cancellation fees but only when they actually cancel or don't show because a lot of people don't like the idea of paying a deposit right off the bat when reserving an appointment.

You can definitely do this! Saving a card on file will not charge your clients card, it will just simply reserve the payment info in the event you need to charge a cancellation fee. Swing by our Support Center to learn how to do this!
