Finding a gift card in square through a customer

I used to be able to track or look up a gift card through either the receiver's name/email or the giver's name/email or even a date range. We try very hard to attach a customer to our transactions so we can do this if the card is lost. Now, I can't find 'gift cards' to do this anymore. The current gift card I am looking for is pre-pandemic so probably December 2019. I know it isn't my problem the customer lost the card, but I am giving it every effort. The 'gift card' search avenue I used to use is no longer there. Instead of removing it, the search and tracking options should have been expanded. I can't even access gift cards in general. How do I look up cards now?

Hi @CWQuakertown! Was this an eGift Card or a plastic Gift Card?

If it was a plastic Gift Card, have you considered searching through Transactions? If the customer knew the last 4 digits of the credit card they would have used to purchase it, you should be able to find it that way. Unfortunately, I think that would only work if they were the giver/purchaser, not if they were the receiver.

If it's an eGift Card, you could do something similar. If you searched for "eGift Card" in transactions for the timeframe (maybe December 2019 in this case), you can go through each transaction one-by-one. When you select a transaction, it should say "eGift Card XXXX" with the last four digits of the card. If you click that (it's blue & hyperlinked), it will show you the email of the recipient. The buyer's name would be in the transaction details where it says "Paid by."

I've attached a few screenshots -- hopefully this helps! It sounds like maybe there used to be a more efficient way to search, but this is the only way I'd know to try and find it.
