The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Secure link to Weebly site
I have a few customers whose browser settings will not connect to my Weebly site because it is not a secure link. Is an upgrade necessary or is there some way to secure transctions such that these browsers can connect?
Hey @AirPlay-
Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.
The SSL for our newly launched Square Online Store (powered by Weebly) should be automatically enabled when the site is published, meaning it should be a secure link.
What browser are they using? Let me know! ✨
thanks @Joe I republished but I will do that one more time and if it's still not working I will shoot it to support. Just for a final word on this though:
If I buy my domain from another party and but publish a square/weebly site to it... does square weebly provide the SSL or does my domain provider?
Hi @Jenflowers9 - Yes! SSL is enabled by default for you the first time you publish your website, so there’s nothing extra you need to do. Occasionally it may take a little while before the certificate is configured, but don’t worry - the magic is happening in the background and very shortly your website will be secure.
Are you saying that the site will not be listed as https and that as long as the customer does not get an insecure warning or error message that the cart is secure?
Thanks.
Hi @WCCshop,
Just jumping in to provide a bit of guidance on this issue. I recommend contacting our Weebly Team directly. They will be your best resource in getting this inquiry addressed, and having a specialist that can look into the specifics of your account will be highly beneficial.

My website issues got solved. Full disclose, I was having an issue of spell checking and my website was miss spelled. I was sure it wasn't but go back and double check, that was my issue.
I am getting an error when you enter my website address. It says my site is not secure and will not allow me to view it. My website is www.blanktag.shop I need to fix this issue.
Sounds like there might be an issue with your domain. Reach out to Ecom Support so they can confirm and help configure settings.
I have a message that states my site is not secure from customers and when I go online. I tried the option you listed and I cant find enable button for ssl. HELP
Hey @SROBINSON and welcome to the Community.
I'd recommend checking out this existing thread here that goes over this particular error of showing "Site Not Secure".
hey Isabelle,
My website is saying Not Secure and Im using Chrome (the latest version). I purchased the domain through weebbly as well. Can someone help me with SSL?
Welcome to the Community, @fetme 🎉
Can you let us know your domain name? Sometimes newly registered domains can take up to 24-48 hours to setup on the backend.
Hi @fetme - if the above troubleshooting isn't working for you, we would recommend flagging this over to our Support Team directly. They can take a deep dive into your specific site to make sure everything gets straightened out.
We will keep an eye out for your contact!
Can you help me with the steps on how I can reach your tech support? (You guys don't make it easy;) and your chatbot is just not giving me an option to live chat with anyone.
It looks like my link didn't generate beforehand, @fetme. Try this one here.
HI there! I am having trouble as well. My site is not secure and I can't locate where I can change that. This is beyond frustrating and making me regret switching from Yahoo Small business services.
Hi I am having same problem says site not secure. This is on edge. thanks
Hey @sweettumblers,
Thanks for writing in and welcome to our community - I noticed it's your first post 👋 🙂
Sorry to hear about the trouble with your website. Are you seeing this error on all browsers, or just edge? If this only occurs on edge, please clear your cache, before refreshing the page. You'll also want to make sure that the only records on your domain are as follows;
1 A - type Record with the host/value set as the "@" or the * symbol (depends on your registrar) pointing to "199.34.228.164"
&
Another A type Record with the host value as "www" and pointing to "199.34.228.164".
After that, your SSL should propagate within 24-48 hours from setting the proper settings.
Please let us know if you have any other questions!
Hello Olive,
We have had customers using Chromo, Safari, Edge, and Firefox. All are receiving messages that our website is not secure and they don't want to put in information to check out. How do we fix this? Please let us know so we don't lose business. We also pay for the best Weebly package so I feel like this should not be an issue.
I am having same issue. I transferred to Weebly when Square bought it. It is happening in both Google Chrome and Safari. theoneeyedturtle.com
Hi @TOET - Welcome back to The Seller Community 😊
That sounds frustrating.
Good news, Your site does appear secure on our end and your DNS records look like they're set up perfectly.
Here is a thread of others who've experienced the same issue. Their experiences may be helpful in getting a solution to your issue.
