Allow ownership transfer please.

Hey square,

it would be nice if I could transfer my 9 year old business reports onto a new account without having to start over completely. Do you have the means to explore that option? Small business owners need this kind of support from you.

My ex-husband set up my square account for me 9 years ago, and we have since split. This isn't his business, and I HATE seeing his name under "OWNER"

Not being able to remove him from my square account also prevented me from being able to take out a square loan, so I turned to my bank instead. Probably could have had that high interest rate loan if there wasn't this minor technology problem that you could fix.....

This is the most up to date information, but I can understand that having that name on the account is a reminder of something you want to move past.

For security, it makes sense it is hard to transfer ownership of an account.  You wouldn't want someone to just be able to verify a bit or 2 of information and hijack your account.

I would recommend downloading all of the previous sale data, and just open and start a new square account and have a free clean and clear split.  The sooner you do this, the quicker you will build a clean non affiliated history for your business backed up by your previous sales data.

I know it isn't ideal, but I can understand that this shouldn't be an easy thing to do to protect the integrity of square accounts and who set them up.  There are a lot of technical tax and accounting support reasons that make it a much bigger deal than just changing the name.  It also wouldn't hurt if you had a court order from your divorce decree to protect yourself.
