Tracking artist's sales across multiple transactions for a month report?

Our giftshop sells inventory from 10 artists.  Each item has a SKU that starts with the artist's initials.  A single transaction might have multiple artist's merchandise on it.  We need a report for the month that lists all inventory sold "by artist" so we know how to give them a % of sales each month.  

How can we do that?  Should we have set up the inventory in some other way to get that information?

Hey DJ

For your situation, I suggest creating categories for each artist and assigning their art pieces to each  each respective one. That way, you can generate a Categories Sales report to view their totals.
