Taking Orders without Paying
I want to be able to input my phone orders via my tablet and have it print out to my kitchen printer to be made. I figured out how to do this but what is happening is that when I get to the option for paying, my customers want to come into the store to pay in person because they generally get extra pastries and other items from our deli.
Is their a way to save the order in the system to pull up later so I am not ringing it up in the system twice? Or is there a button or option to send it back to my cooks that will not affect my overall gross income total/ sales tax total?
Thanks in Advance

Hi there
I don't do food services -- but on regular Square (non-retail) the feature of TICKETS offers the option to create a ticket name and save it for later payment processing. It is a free feature but needs to be turned on. Have you tried that feature?

If you are using Square for Restaurants you can save the check and keep it open. You can take the order then press on "save" and put their name on the ticket. Then you can pull it back up later when they come in. If you want it to send to the kitchen you can press "send" first and then save. You can add a name when you save or before you begin by using the "add name/notes" button.
If you are using Square Point of Sale you can save the ticket as well and go back to it to pay when the person comes in. You just add a name and then it will be under open tickets.

I'm trying to figure out how to do this in the process, as we have signed up and are using the square for restaurants.
Do you have more of a step by step?
Thanks in Advance

Yes. As you are taking the phone orders you will choose the items and add them to the check. Before you start the check or after you are done adding items I would add a name to it. You can do this by going to "actions" and choosing "edit name/notes". Give the ticket a name so you know whose it is. After you are done adding the items the customer wants you will see three options below the check on the screen - print bill, pay, and save. You want to save it. After you have saved it you can then view checks by pressing on the blue button that says view checks, this will be on the main screen under the black check on the bottom. Click on that. If you have a floor or section layout that will come up but if you swipe that screen over to the right you will see all the open checks. And if you have put a name on them they will be under custom checks. You can click on them to bring them back up again. You can then add more items or push pay and have the customer pay. This is how we keep checks open at our brewery until people are done. I hope this helps! I'm happy to answer any clarifying questions!
